Motivation can be defined as the inner strength that affects the direction, intensity, and endurance of a person's choice of voluntary behavior. It consists of:
- Direction - focused on goals
- Density - the amount of effort allocated
- Persistence - time spent on effort.
Sample : A team leader encourages team members to work efficiently.
Features of Motivation
Motivation is an inner emotion, that is, it describes a person's psychological state. This is a continuous process and we have to make sure it is not disturbed. A person should be fully encouraged.
Motivation consists of theree interacting and dependent elements :
- Requirements : Requirements or deficiencies that arise when there is a physiological imbalance
- Drivers - Various camps or events organized to motivate employees and offer them new opportunities.
- Incentives : Employees must be rewarded for good work in order to be encouraged .
Maslow's Theory of Needs Hierarchy
This theory was produced to answer the question “What
motivates the individual”. When the first need is fully met, every second need
comes into effect. Maslow explained the hierarchy of needs in two groups:
deficiency needs and growth needs.
Maslow told in 5
different groups.
Psychological needs :
Very individual must fulfill the basic
requirements to maintain. These requirements include food, clothing and
clothing.
Need for security :
Occupational
safety, salary increase, etc. in a business. It Contains. To meet this,
managerial implementation, pension plan, allowance fund, tip, etc.
Social needs :
We have all heard that man is a social
animal, we want to be there with the people we love, and we are accepted as we
are; nobody wants to be tried. This is a common requirement that every person
wants.
This theory helps managers think about
encouraging their employees by identifying employee needs. In short, it
presents motivation as a constantly changing force and expresses the constant
need to fulfill new and higher levels of need.
Respect :
Respect means the typical human desire that
is accepted and valued by others. People often participate in a profession or a
hobby, so they gain fame, fame and respect. According to Maslow, people's needs
have strict rules - hierarchies are interrelated rather than sharply separated.
Self Realization :
Self-realization means realizing one's full
potential. Maslow defines this as the desire to complete everything possible,
to be as much as possible.
